RED Hat Inc, the world's leading distributor of open source software, has bolstered its commitment in Malaysia by launching the Open Source Collaborative Innovation (OSCI).
Senior Red Hat executives said OSCI is an Asia Pacific-wide programme to build a global open source community for collaborative innovation.
Open source software is free computer software that can be modified by anyone. It accounts for about a fifth of the world software market.
OSCI in Malaysia was unveiled by Red Hat president and chief executive officer Jim Whitehurst during his first visit to Kuala Lumpur yesterday
